Roadside Cleanup Day a Big Success

Saturday June 4, 2005 was Roadside Cleanup Day, during which thirty-some volunteers scoured our streets, lanes, roads, drives and ways of Mission Canyon for litter. By the end of the day, our community was the only one of its kind on the South Coast to be clean and pristine, totally free of all roadside trash and debris. Thanks to the generosity of The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf in the Paseo Nuevo (Fritz the Manager especially!), every volunteer received a free drink of his or her choice. But the greatest benefit was to all of us here in the Canyon, who -- for one memorable day -- lived in the cleanest community on the South Coast!
