Here is a good defensible space primer from S B County Fire and the Firesafe Council. Remember that creating defensible space on your property helps defend your neighbors, and their defensible space work benefits you as well. Because there is less risk to their own safety, firefighters are much more likely to make a stand on property that has created a safe defensible space, and less likely to do so on property that hasn’t.
