The Santa Barbara County Fire Safe Council is hosting the 2022 Wildfire Preparedness Exposition May 6-8, 2022. The Event will be held at the Direct Relief building, 6100 Wallace Becknell Road in Goleta. Please join us for family friendly exhibits, activities and presentations. The event will feature the Walk Into Wildfireimmersive multimedia exhibit designed to give participants an inside view of a wildland fire flame front. Walk Into Wildfire is part of the Burn Cycle Project founded by Ethan Turpin, whose father, Bill Turpin, retired as a Battalion Chief from the Santa Barbara County Fire Department. Here is the basic schedule of events:
- Friday May 6th, 5 pm – 8:30pm: Opening Reception with Speakers and Exhibits
- Saturday May 7th, 11 am – 6 pm: Speakers, Exhibits, Activities & Food Trucks
- Sunday May 8th, 11 am – 6 pm: The “Walk Into Wildfire” Exhibit Continues
This event is funded by through a Fire Prevention Grant and is part of the Regional Wildfire Mitigation Program (RWMP).
